Letter from Junior Achievement for Div 7-5

February 2012
Dear Parent:
Junior Achievement of British Columbia has been invited by Mr. Gibson to present the Dollars with Sense program at Dunsmuir Middle School. This program will begin on February 13th and consists of four lessons. Each lesson will be facilitated by Tam Dinh and Colleen Hood, local business professionals and volunteers with Junior Achievement.
Junior Achievement (JA) is the world’s largest not-for-profit organization dedicated to educating young people about business and leadership. Our programs prepare students for the real world as they learn how to apply entrepreneurial thinking in the workplace, learn financial and money management concepts and understand the importance of an education as it relates to their long term career goals.

JA Volunteers Tam Dinh and Colleen Hood of Coast Capital Savings will be facilitating the four-part Dollars with Sense program with support from Mr. Gibson. The program is fun and interactive and will help students develop financial literacy skills so they can make informed decisions today and set goals for their financial future. Students will learn about budgeting, money and credit management, saving and financial goal setting.

Donations and sponsorships allow for all Junior Achievement programs to be provided to schools no cost. You can learn more about Junior Achievement and how we are taking steps to work with students and teachers in Victoria and throughout Vancouver Island by visiting www.jabc.org or please contact me at deborah.wakeham@jabc.org to discuss any questions that you may have.

Sincerely,
Deborah Wakeham
Regional Manager, Vancouver Island
