Student Teacher Mr. Lidstone
Mr. Lidstone starts his final practicum for his degree with us on Monday.
He has been visiting us for several classes in the past several weeks and the students are quite familiar with him by now. He promises to be an excellent teacher to work with our class in the next 2 months.

FSA Tests begin Monday, January 17 for Grade 7 students.
Information letters from the STA were distributed today to students.
If you wish to excuse your child from writing the FSA please provide a signed

L.A. - Media Education Essay on "Issues around the effects of T.V. and Movie Violence in Society."
After reading an article on T.V. Violence and discussing it today students were asked to:
Watch 1 -2 television programs tonight and/or tomorrow night
It must be a program normally permitted for viewing by parents
Programming types: Detective / Crime / Drama (no ratings higher than 14+)
Tally any and all acts of violence as listed in class.
Think about whether these acts of violence are necessary for the show's storyline, or possibly extra (gratuitous) violence added for dramatic effect.
